Gerber Cereals, from Infants to Toddlers!

By Angie Appoo, Macaroni Kid Snellville September 1, 2015
I received samples, coupons, and compensation for purposes of this review and party but all opinions are my own.

Although my MacGirl just turned 10, we have been a Gerber family since her birth, when I requested a personalized Gerber spoon. It includes her name and birthdate, and has been a great keepsake.

We continued to be a Gerber family by enjoying their cereals.

Being in the Gerber family didn't stop with MacGirl. All my nieces and nephews have been Gerber babies, including our most recent addition, Tyler, who's now 9 months old.

We recently threw a little party to get local moms and their kids together to try 4 Gerber Baby Cereals:
  • Gerber Oatmeal Cereal, single grain. Perfect for Supported Sitters
  • Gerber Oatmeal Banana, Perfect for Sitters.
  • Gerber Lil'Bits Oatmeal Banana Strawberry, Perfect for Crawlers
  • Gerber Hearty Bits, multigrain, Banana Apple Strawberry, Perfect for Toddlers
The great thing about Gerber cereals is that they can be mixed with formula (as MacGirl was fed), as well as Breastmilk (which Tyler was fed) and juice and water (which all the kids at our party loved) You can even add them to recipes, such as smoothies, cookies, and mini meatloaves!

Gerber cereal is an excellent source of iron for a child’s healthy brain development. Just two servings a day provides 90% of infants’ daily iron needs. Gerber Cereals also contain calcium, Vitamins C, E, Zinc and six B vitamins for healthy growth and development. Gerber Cereals are the ideal first solid food designed to prevent nutrition gaps that commonly occur during the first year of a baby’s life.

The new packaging is so much better than the boxes I dealt with when MacGirl was an infant! It has a wide-mouth opening that makes it easy to pour or spoon out, and that means less mess. It's also easy to open and close with one hand. And it closes securely so it's perfect to toss in your diaper bag.

Have you tried the new Gerber Cereals? What are your thoughts?
