GIVEAWAY: MAD HATTER

Young Audiences, Woodruff Arts Center Hosts 4th Annual Mad Hatter Event

February 19, 2012

Young Audiences, Woodruff Arts Center (YA), Georgia’s leading provider of in-school arts-in-education programming, will host its annual Mad Hatter Event on Saturday, February 25.

The Mad Hatter Event is an opportunity for children to experience the arts for a morning with their family and friends.  All funds raised by the Mad Hatter Event support YA by transforming the lives and learning of young people through the arts.

What:  Young Audiences, Woodruff Art Center’s 4th Annual Mad Hatter Event

When:  Saturday, February 25; 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. EDT

Where:  Woodruff Arts Center’s Memorial Arts Building

                 1280 Peachtree Street, NE

                 Atlanta, GA 30309

Young Audiences roster artists will entertain and engage children (suggested ages 2-10) and their friends and families with hands-on art activities.  YA visual artist Karin Mervis will work side-by-side with children teaching them about the fundamentals of art and design as well as creativity, collaboration and compromise as they create a miniature winter wonderland village.  Children will also make their own customized scarves, Mad Hatter top hats, picture frames, and more!  Attendees will enjoy an interactive, larger than life puppet show with YA artist Peter Hart.  Keep your eyes out for YA artist Marty Barrett, who will, once again, be our ever fun-loving Mad Hatter! Children will meet Alice, the King and Queen, Cheshire Cat, and the White Rabbit.

Tickets:  $12.00 in advance or at the door the day of the event for $15.00 and are available for purchase from the Woodruff Arts Center’s Box Office.
