We're SUPER excited to be heading to Universal Studios in Orlando Florida on a Family Forward retreat via Mom It Forward, at Loews Portofino Bay Hotel.
We're sure to have a memorable time with these top tips!
1. INVOLVE the whole family!
"MG" is a HUGE Harry Potter Fan but "DIVA's" NOT...Should we scratch Universal? Nope! because everyone LOVEs Despicable Me! Build up the excitement and ease any fears by reading the books, watching the movies, and checking out Youtube Videos.

2. Take lots of FAMILY photos & videos!
DON'T forget the cameras, portable chargers; & extra memory cards. DO remember to get out from BEHIND the camera and join in on those photos!
3. Make a Plan, and Plan to Relax!
Make a plan and have it accessible to everyone - and schedule some relaxing time, like a Show (Blue Man Group?) or the Pool, it doesn't have to be all about the rides. And if plans have to change, be flexible!
4. Have Fun with a THEME!
We're surprising the kids with Harry Potter and Despicable Me themed clothing, toys and trinkets. We have the Despicable Me 1 & 2 DVDs for the 8 hour car ride! We have non-permanent decorations for the hotel room - of course the Despicable Me Kids Suite would be perfect, but - do what you can with your budget!
5. Collect SOUVENIRS!
Besides purchased ones, souvenirs can be Show Tickets/Playbills, Kids Menus, Restaurant Napkins, pressed pennies, maps, plane tickets, character autographs etc. Add them to a Shadow Box, Memory Jar, or Scrapbook.
6. JOURNAL it!
