A Halloween Must-Have: Pelican 3310PL LED Photoluminescent Flashlight!

By Angie Appoo, Macaroni Kid Snellville - Lawrenceville October 23, 2014
So you think you've got the costumes, and the candy baskets and you're all set for Trick or Treating, right? Well.. not so fast. I'd add Pelican’s ProGear 3310PL Flashlight to your child's ensemble before I head out. Halloween Trick or Treating can be a dangerous event, especially since it starts after dark. Accidents happen, from the very serious ones like getting hit by a car, to the not-so-serious kinds, like tripping and falling.

The Pelican’s ProGear 3310PL Flashlight has an attached lanyard you can put around the neck, so your child's hands are free for holding baskets and for holding your (or a buddy's) hand. It has a photoluminescent body that makes it glow in the dark, and therefore easy to find when needed (even if you were to throw it in your mommy bag)!

It comes with 3 settings - High, Low, and Flashing. I think that's amazing, and makes it versatile for different situations.

I can see myself using the low setting inside Fox Theatre or Philips Arena, or any indoor venue where my MacGirl has dropped a toy or sweater under her chair.

I can see myself using the high setting when I go to Rock Ranch this Saturday for their night-time CornMaze or when I go to the Halloween Night Climb at Treetop Quest! It will even be great for the Halloween Fun with Flashlights event at Fernbank Science Center where they encourage you to bring a flashlight!

The flashing setting is great (if you've been to any evening kids' show, like Disney on Ice, you've seen countless of flashing lighted toys) but I think it's super great to use as a signal that your child needs help. I often let my MacGirl walk up ahead with her friends as I stay a safe distance away. I can be there if she needs help, but it gives her a little freedom and independence. This way I can let her lead the way in the corn maze or when trick-or-treating, and know if she needs help, or gets lost, she can put on the flashing mode and I can seek her out. The flashing mode will also most likely set her apart from when there are multiple flashlights out, like in the evening corn maze. And with it's glow-in-the-dark body, that also helps me find her among everyone else who has a flashlight.

The 3310PL LED Photoluminescent Flashlight is also great to keep in your car or home for emergencies (It's waterproof!), for using when walking your dog in the evening, packing up your chairs and blankets after watching Stone Mountains Lasershow or an Outdoor movie, and for countless other situations!

You can get yours before Halloween if you order from Amazon or look for nearby sale locations on their website. It makes for a great Holiday Gift too!

Disclosure: I received a 3310PL LED Photoluminescent Flashlight to faciliatate my review, but all opinions are my own.
