Illuminate Lantern Festival

By Maria Vargas December 28, 2018

The Illuminate Chinese Lantern Festival is an outdoor walk-through lantern exhibit that has come all the way from Chengdu, China.

While the overall lot space that was used for the festival was not big, my family still managed to stay for over 2 hours. We decided to try out the pan-Asian food fare available and we took a while trying to decide what to eat. Everyone had something different from each vendor and all of it was delicious! Never fear though, hot dogs and hamburgers are available for your picky eaters.

After dinner, we caught the acrobat show. Can I just say WOW? It was jaw dropping the entire time. In my opinion, this was the topping to the festival and well worth the entry price. You can’t miss this!

Afterwards, we slowly took in all the beautiful colorful displays. Some displays were as high as 30 feet. It clearly shows that these were made very carefully but sturdy enough to withstand windy or rainy weather. The kids really enjoyed walking thru the tunnels and greeting the costumed characters.

I do hope you can come and visit. The festival will be running till January 8th.
