Drury Inn and Suites Offers An Oasis in Valdosta

By Rachel Horlacher May 29, 2019

My family had the opportunity to take a mini-vacation two weeks ago, right before school let out. We were going to Wild Adventures park in Valdosta for Saturday and Sunday. Therefore, we needed a place to stay on Friday and Saturday night. We're a family of 5, so finding a hotel that fits all of us is a bit of a challenge. Drury Inn and Suites saved the day, they set us up in a 2-room suite with a sofa-bed in the front room and two queen beds in the back bedroom. There was a door to separate the two rooms with a little hallway in between with the bathroom. We tried to put all three kids in the other room, but alas, they fought and we were forced to share our room with a child, sigh.

The rooms were immaculately clean and I appreciated that you had the option to only have your sheets and towels washed as needed. Also, they removed of the disposable shampoo bottles, and instead there were containers mounted to the shower wall.

Upon arriving, we took advantage of their Kickback hour, every night from 5:30 pm until 7 pm, in which there was a potato, nachos, hotdog, and taco bar. Each adult also received a card for 3 free alcoholic drinks. We don't drink alcohol, so we passed on those, but there were plenty of people utilizing their free cards. We arrived around 6, so had plenty of time to utilize the food and free sodas provided. Thanks to the food provided, we didn't need to go out to dinner, thus saving us money.

After eating our "dinner", we went to the pool. Apparently this was the first time visiting a hotel pool since we did not know that towels would be provided. This pool was inside and outside, as well as a hot tub. It seemed like my kids spent more time in the hot tub, since the pool was super cold, but seeing how this is in South Georgia, near the Florida border, it gets super hot, so being super cold is a good thing.

The beds were comfortable, my 9-year old slept on the sofa-bed and didn't have any complaints. We got ready and went to breakfast. Breakfast runs a little later on the weekends, catering towards families wanting to sleep in. Everything at breakfast was hot and fresh. There were biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, tortillas, oatmeal, a waffle station, yogurts, fruit, your typical pastries as well as juices. I enjoyed that they offered different toppings for the scrambled eggs, ham, salsa, and cheese as well as the tortillas if you wanted to make a breakfast taco.

Overall, our stay was very comfortable and are looking forward to visiting Valdosta again and staying at Drury Inn and Suites. If you need to stop half way to Orlando, then definitely stay here.
