Necessities by Sherrie Review

Custom Bra Fittings

By Rachel Horlacher April 26, 2019

Ever since puberty, I have had an awful time finding bras that fit me. I've been one of the 85% of women who do not know their true bra size. Necessities by Sherrie fills a specialty niche by offering bra fitting services with trained employees who are very knowledgeable.

When I went in, I was helped by Judy. Judy was delightful and was very easy to work with and bent over backwards trying to find a bra that I liked. I was shown into a fitting room to remove my shirt so that she could measure me. I thought it would be awkward, but truthfully, after have 5 children, this is nothing. I'm sure she's seen it all and therefore, I was able to not feel too self-conscious.

I've been walking around almost all of my adult life wearing a 38 D. Judy measured me and found out I"m a 32 FF. We started trying on bras that were 32s, but figured out that a 34 fit better, a 32 was way too snug. Apparently, bras are meant to be tight and cover you completely, I had never had a bra that fit like the ones Judy was picking me  out. I tried on several bras that Judy brought, first some t-shirt bras, but I didn't like the fit, so we tried one that was not a t-shirt bra. I discovered the difference between the t-shirt bra and a regular bra is that a t-shirt bra doesn't have any seams, so you can wear it under a t-shirt and you can't tell you're wearing a bra. That was not a big deal for me, however, so I chose a bra that has a seam and fit me much better. This is the first bra I've had that fits me very well and I feel sexy in as well.

When I first took my bra home, it took some getting used to.

  • Day 1: I HATED IT! It was so uncomfortable, tight underneath my bust. Still felt sexy.
  • Day 2-4: Still didn't like it, but getting better
  • Day 5+: LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!!!!!

Remember, I've never had a bra that fit correctly, thus tight under my bust, and it was uncomfortable until I got used to it. The bra lifts up my breasts just the right amount and supports them, so eliminates my occasional backaches.

You do pay for quality, the bras start at around $50, but I plan on going back and buying several more. Sure you can buy bras online for cheaper, but you won't get the same service and perhaps the same quality. You also help out a small business in our community by patronizing Necessities by Sherrie.

If you choose not to purchase a bra at Necessities by Sherrie, they offer a fitting for $15. They have a computer system that remembers your size, and your previous purchases, so you can go in or call and ask and they can look it up. They also offer online ordering with free shipping if you purchase $100 or more and a flat $5 shipping if you spend under $100.

I highly recommend Necessities By Sherrie next time you are in need of a bra, or just want to find out what your true size is. They offer band sizes from 28 to 52 and cup sizes AA to K, so they cater to all women, not just big-busted ones like me. They also sell sports bras, swim attire, plus accessories.
