By Stone Mountain Park June 27, 2019

Featuring more than 400 artists and an estimated 200,000 shopping enthusiasts, the 51st annual Yellow Daisy Festival will take place September 5-8 at Stone Mountain Park. Over 200 opportunities exist for volunteers to experience the festival while earning park perks. Only a few slots remain for community performers looking to hone their acts with a live audience.

Various volunteer positions are available within the festival's art, crafts, music and food areas. Positions require light work, walking and a friendly smile. Greeters, photographers, gate attendants and help center representatives are needed as well as volunteers to help direct crafters and customers moving items in and out of the festival. Others may be assigned to work as support for crafters in the loops. Volunteers must be 18 years of age and background checks will be required in some cases.

For volunteer locations, descriptions and online sign up, visit bit.ly/2IDsLQK. Selected applicants must be available for a training Thursday, Aug. 15 from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. or Saturday, Aug. 17 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m..

Local performers may also apply for a few remaining slots on the Yellow Daisy Festival Community Stage. School bands, show choirs, cover bands, dance groups or local acoustic performers are encouraged to pitch their group via e-mail to ydf@stonemountainpark.com. Performers will receive a complimentary parking pass to the park for the day of their performance. The deadline to apply for the community stage is July 5.

All volunteers receive meal vouchers during each shift and a souvenir Yellow Daisy Festival t-shirt. All-Attractions Passes, annual parking and even Mountain Memberships are available depending on the number of shifts volunteers contributed.

The 51st Yellow Daisy Festival kicks off Thursday, September 5 at 10 a.m. and runs through the weekend. Admission to the festival is included with parking; $20 for one-day permit or $40 for annual parking. For more information, visit the Yellow Daisy Festival page at www.stonemountainpark.com.
