Children of Eden Review

July 26, 2019

I had the pleasure of seeing Children of Eden on opening night. If you like musicals, then this one is for you. The premise is loosely based on the stories of Adam and Eve and Noah from the book of Genesis. I say loosely, since they took some liberties with the story lines, mostly Adam and Eve, and Cain and Able. There were definite themes throughout the whole show, one of getting out of our comfort zones to see what is 'beyond'. If we never push our boundaries then we will never grow on a personal level and thus as a society.

My favorite character was 'Father', or God. He was magnificently white from his hair to his robes. The actor who portrays him has a phenomenal voice and was a pleasure to listen to. Adam and Eve did an excellent job of emulating the innocence of children when they first arrive in the Garden and mature once they eat of the fruit of knowledge. There were several musical numbers with the whole ensemble which was expertly executed.

I thoroughly enjoyed the show and if you're into musicals as much as I am, you will enjoy it as well. This would make an excellent date night or night out with the girls.
