Royalty for a Night at Medieval Times

By Rachel Horlacher September 6, 2019

My 6-year old son’s birthday was this past Friday. To celebrate, we took a trip back in time to Medieval Times. Upon entering, we were given the VIP badges, which admitted you into the arena early, which we were not able to take advantage of since we were barely on time for the show.

We went with my parents and my nephew who’s birthday is in August as well. Upon entering, we were seated in the first row and our Knight was the black and white one. We got flags to wave, which my 3-year old thought everyone needed to be hit over the head with it. Truthfully, I didn’t see a point in upgrading to the VIP seats, since you don’t need to be seated early and the back row still has good seats.

While you are being served, there is entertainment in the arena. The meal started with a choice of Pepsi, water, or iced tea. For my kids, they did offer lemonade, not sure if that’s a normal offering. Just so you’re aware, there are no utensils for this meal, so your hands will get messy, but they do offer moist towelettes at the end of the meal. The meal consisted of tomato soup, garlic bread, half of a children, half of a potato, half of a corn on the cob, and to finish it off vanilla ice cream with caramel sauce After we were done eating, the real entertainment began. The knights jousted with each other to see who would be standing at the end. Unfortunately, our knight won his first round, but lost his second. They did change the show where the queen led the show and one of the knights turned traitor instead of a foreign knight coming in. It was a nice change, and of course, the evil knight was defeated and peace returned to the kingdom.

Overall, I recommend as a nice night out with the family.
