Snellville Performing Arts, Inc. (https://www.snellvilleperformingarts.com/) is holding an athletic shoe drive fundraiser through November 10, 2019 to raise money for studio equipment and improvements. Snellville Performing Arts, Inc. will earn funds based on the total quantity of pairs of gently worn, used and new sneakers collected. GotSneakers, a social enterprise, will issue funds in compensation for the collected sneakers. Those funds will benefit Snellville Performing Arts, Inc. Anyone can help by simply donating gently worn, used and/or new sneakers at Snellville Performing Arts, Inc. and Main Street Theatre, located at 2485 Main Street East, Snellville, GA 30078.
GotSneakers is a unique fundraising initiative that asks communities to reach into their closets, not their pockets! All donated sneakers are redistributed throughout the GotSneakers network of small business partners throughout Haiti, Nicaragua, Bolivia, and Ukraine. GotSneakers works with micro-entrepreneurs helping them create, maintain, and grow small businesses in developing countries where economic opportunity and jobs are limited. "We are excited about our sneaker drive," said Stephanie McDonald, Executive Director. "We know that most people have extra sneakers in their closets they would like to donate rather than throw away. By doing so, they help us raise money for Snellville Performing Arts, help the environment, and have the chance to help individuals and families in developing countries who are in desperate need of economic opportunities. It's a win-win for everyone!” By donating gently worn, used and new sneakers to Snellville Performing Arts, Inc., we can all make a difference in people’s lives around the world and here at home.
