Saturday, May 25 through Sunday, June 2 - #ATL A Raisin in the Sun

More than 50 years ago, The New York Times said Raisin "changed American theater forever," and it's since lost none of its power to move audiences. Later adapted into the acclaimed 1961 movie starring Sidney Poitier, the drama is the story of the Youngers, a black family living on Chicago's South Side in the late 1950s. When fate lands a sizable life insurance check in their hands, the family -- accustomed to struggling to make ends meet -- tries to decide the best way to spend the money. They consider buying a new home, investing in a business, enrolling in college and more -- but must deal with conflicting aspirations and prejudice at every turn.
