CHECK-IN: Our check-in was scheduled for 4pm on Thursday, but when we arrived closer to 1pm, we were told our room was ready. We were given wristbands to keep on for the duration of our stay, our key cards, a map, and an entertainment activities guide that shows you the different shows and activities they had for that week.
Next to the registration desk is Guest Services (which can also be found in the mall). At guest services you can make reservations for any of the character dining options, get a free casting card to participate in the live show "Double Dare Live" (which I highly recommend, just remember to turn it in by 2:30pm), and get tickets to local attractions like Universal Studios, and Legoland to name a few.
THE ROOM: The room onsists of a semi-private kids room (with bunk bed and tv), a private master bedroom with a king-size bed, tv, and desk, a full bathroom and a Parlor with pullout sleeper sofa and TV. - Yep 3 TVs total, and room for 6 to sleep comfortably. There was also a Kitchenette with a Mini-refrigerator, Sink, Microwave, Coffeemaker. And my favorite, Free WiFi.
LAUNDRY: The guest laundry room is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There are three locations on property.
FOOD:
In the Mall, you can find the "Nicktoons Café" where they have the Character buffet-style meals. There is also a Buffet Restaurant, which was also closed at the time we visited. There is "Antonio's Pizzeria" which offers hand-tossed pizzas, strombolis, burgers from the grill, chicken nuggets, and french fries. There is also "Cravings", featuring Starbucks Coffee, Einstein Bagels and Hersey's Hand-Dipped Ice Cream. Lastly there's a "Subway", serving signature sandwiches and salads. (FYI. The Nick Hotel also offers poolside dining, and in-room dining service)
My MacGirl finished eating before I did, so she went to the nearby KidsZone where she was able to play free online Nickelodeon games.
THE MALL: Besides the food court, the mall has an "Arcade", much like a Dave and Busters full of games, and opportunities to redeem points for prizes. It also has two stores that you can purchase "Snacks & Souvenirs". Additionally there is a "4-D Experience Theater", you can pay per movie, or watch unlimited movies for a low fee. And "Studio Nick", where there are live shows, including "Double Dare Live" which is a free and interactive show you can be part of! And a "Kids' Spa", with treatments that include manicures, pedicures, hair wraps, extensions, braiding and air brush tattoos. Parents can also indulge in spa services.
THE POOLS: After the mall, we went to the pool, also known as the waterparks. There are two pools.
The Nick Hotel's Lagoon Pool has a zero-depth-entry pool, and four-story interactive water tower that includes seven slides, flumes, climbing nets, water jets, and a 400-gallon tank ready and waiting to dump water or SLIME. My daughter LOVED getting slimed in the mass sliming with the 400-gallon tank. Line up early to get a good spot if you're interested in the mass sliming (times will be listed in your activities guide). If happen to be at the resort on a weekday take advantage of the waterparks then. When we went Thursday, the Lagoon Pool was at a comfortable crowd-level, but on Saturday it was packed - as expected with it being a weekend and kids are out of school. Also available are two soothing whirlpools; a basketball court with multi-height hoops; a nine-hole miniature golf course, daily poolside entertainment, and the Lagoon Grill & Bar which serves burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages.

The Oasis Pool at Nickelodeon Suites Resort features an Olympic-style swimming pool with exciting slides and flumes, Kids' play area with wet and dry activities, Pop jets and splash zone for preschoolers who love the pool, and an Oasis Pool Snack Bar, that serves poolside snacks, sandwiches, ice cream, and frozen drinks.
Poolside Cabanas
Poolside cabanas come with two lounge chairs, a table and chairs, ceiling fan, flat-screen TV with cable, mini-fridge stocked with water, convenient towel service, and personal cabana attendant (reservation necessary, fees apply);
Friday morning we had a Character Breakfast with Spongebob Squarepants. It was such a great experience. The breakfast was at the Nick toons cafe, and was buffet-style. There was an array of fresh fruit and pastries, eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, grits, and even an omelet station. There was SO MUCH food. The characters, Spongebob, Sandy, Mr.Krabs, and Squidquirt walked to our tables and engaged the kids in silliness. We took photos with our own cameras. There were 2 photo opps with Mr.Krabs and Patrick which were taken by a professional photographer, but you were welcomed to use your own camera as well. It was in front of a green screen, and they added a really nice background if you bought the picture. The characters danced and played beach ball catch with the kids. It was very intimate (Fri morning) and they came around our table at least 3 times. I'm sure Saturdays and Sundays are more crowded and you get less time with them. They all even gave the kids autographs (stamps).
CHARACTERS: Besides the paid character meals (Breakfast Play Date with Dora and Pals, SpongeBob's Bikini Bottom Breakfast, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Breakfast, and Antonio's Pizza-Rama Dinner featuring the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) there are free ways to meet the characters. There are designated meet and greets in the Mall, check your activities guide for specific characters, days and times. I also saw that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were at the pool for a live entertainment show Friday evening.
PHOTOS: At various times, there is a photographer who takes photos - at the poolside entertainment where there is an interactive show you can join in, at the Double Dare Live show, and at the character meals - if you're thinking of buying even one photo, you should consider getting their photo package. It comes with a CD, and 4 photos (1 being an 8X10) and those printed photos could have the green screen image added, or fun slime borders. And if you're thinking of getting this photo package, make sure every time you see the photographers that they take lots of photos of your family!
SLIME: You can get slimed during the "Double Dare Live" show if you're picked as a contestant, and at the Pool areas, either during a live show or the Mass Sliming under the Big Bucket! Don't leave until you've been slimed!!! :)
Overall, the family had a great time. There's lots to do at the Resort, for free like the pool, the double-dare live show, and the kidszone, and others that cost extra, like the 4D movies, the arcade, the kids spa, the souvenir shop, character meals, and the photos, so if you're considering doing any of these things, remember to add it to your budget. You can also mix in other activities like we did, by going to Downtown Disney or Legoland or any of the other nearby attractions. The kids loved staying at the Resort for the 3days, 2nights that we stayed, and they're already planning to visit again next summer!
Disclosure: We received a discounted media rate for our stay, as well as a complimentary character breakfast, but this did not sway our opinions and thoughts. We honestly plan to visit again next summer. Our experience was very positive.
