December Daily Programming During Outside the Box (Through January 25):
Laugh and Learn
Mondays and Saturdays at 10:30 a.m.; Sundays at 11 a.m.
Children can join Ace Tool, Chief Builder and Ernie the Engineer as they build the tallest tower they can make, learn about the six simple machines and work as a team to build structures from pictures!
Mini-Musical: Outside the Box
Mondays and Tuesdays at 11:30 a.m.; Thursdays and Fridays at 11 a.m.;
Saturdays at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.; Sundays at 12 p.m.

Grimey and Patches have a house to build, but their crew and materials don’t arrive at the building site! They need workers who are strong, can follow directions and work until the project is finished. With the help of the audience, they are able to get the job done!
Music and Movement: Motion Lab 101
Sundays at 2 p.m.
Professor Wiggles needs assistants to aid in her movement experiments! Children can bring their wiggles and giggles to see what they can create!
Music and Movement: Construction Aerobics
Monday through Saturday at 2 p.m.
Children can build their body as they join in the fun!
Storytime: Outside the Box
Monday through Friday at 3 p.m. and Saturdays at 4 p.m.
Do you know how to think Outside the Box? Storytime is all about imagination and play. Children can join an Imaginator for Outside the Box storytime!
Box Lab: Winter Wonderland
Monday through Friday at 1 p.m.
Children can join the Imaginators for snowmen-making, ice fishing and igloo creations!
Eat A Georgia Rainbow
Sundays at 1 p.m.
Join the Imaginators for this seasonal program featuring fruits and vegetables that can be harvested in Georgia throughout the year! Visitors will participate in a cool cooking activity.
Hands On Science: Exploration Station
Monday through Friday at 2:30 p.m.
Science is all around us! Join Professor Labcoat’s scientific adventures, where visitors can learn about the basics of science exploration.
Sunday Storytime
Sundays at 3 p.m.
Children are encouraged to grab a blanket and delve into the world of books!

North Georgia Tinplate Trackers (NGTT) Holiday Trains Display
Sunday, December 14 – Saturday, December 20 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

All Aboard! The North Georgia Tinplate Trackers (NGTT) will display a variety of interactive holiday trains at The Children’s Museum of Atlanta from Sunday, December 14 through Saturday, December 20. The layout will delight and entertain children of all ages. Every module of the set up has push-buttons, which allow spectators to operate various model railroad accessories such as crossing gates, beacon towers, handcars, and trolleys.
*Exclusive Members Only Holiday Event: Santa’s Workshop
Saturday, December 6 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Museum members are invited to attend a very merry evening of festive fun, food and frolicking with Kris Kringle himself at Santa’s Workshop on Saturday, December 6 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Children can take pictures with Santa, play reindeer games, enjoy their favorite Christmas carols and even help the elves build a toy. Space is very limited, so members are encouraged to act quickly! Tickets are $6 and will not be sold the night of the event. Museum members can bring non-member friends for $15/ticket. The Science Wondershop with Brian "Dr. Science" Williams
Sundays, December 7& 14 at 1:30 p.m. & 2:30 p.m.

Meet the Holidays: Our Lady of Guadalupe
Saturday, December 13 at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Sunday, December 14 at 3 p.m.
Our Lady of Guadalupe is Mexico’s most important religious holiday. On this day, people from all over Mexico travel to the chapel Tepayac Hill in Mexico City, where the mother of Jesus is said to have appeared before an Indian peasant named Juan Diego in 1531. Huge fiestas are held all over Mexico and Central America to honor the day of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Children can listen to “Lullabye of the Virgin of Guadalupe” by Kelly Stuart, and then make their own paper roses.
Meet the Holidays: Hanukkah
Saturday December 20 at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Sunday December 21 at 3 p.m.
Hanukkah, also known as the festival of lights, is an 8-day Jewish holiday that is celebrated around the world. According to the lunar calendar, it is observed in November or December. In ancient times, the Maccabean army entered a Holy Temple and found one small drop of oil for the lamp. Hanukkah is celebrated because the small drop of oil miraculously kept the lamp lit for 8 days! Children can listen to “The Hanukkah Hop!” by Erica Silverman, and then make a Hanukkah banner.
Meet the Holidays: Christmas
Monday, December 22 and Tuesday, December 23 at 1 p.m.
Christmas is a Christian holiday honoring the birth of Jesus Christ. Christmas evolved over two millennia into a worldwide religious and secular celebration, incorporating many pre-Christian, pagan traditions into the festivities along the way. Today, Christmas is a time for family and friends to get together, exchange gifts and celebrate Jesus. Children can listen to the story “The Spirit of Christmas” by Nancy Tillman, and then make cheerio candy canes!
Meet the Holidays: Kwanzaa
Saturday, December 27 at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Sunday, December 28 at 3 p.m.
Kwanzaa is a week-long celebration held in the United States honoring universal African American heritage and culture. Observed from December 26 to January 1 each year, Kwanzaa features various activities, including the lighting of a candle holder with seven candles and culminating in a feast and gift giving. It was created by Maulana Karenga and was first celebrated in 1966–1967. Children can listen to the story “Kevin’s Kwanzaa” by Lisa Bullard, and then make their own Kwanzaa candle.
Fourth Annual Noon Year’s Eve Ball
Wednesday, December 31 at 11:30 a.m.
10…9…8…7… The Children’s Museum is counting down to the “noon year” for 2015 – come celebrate! Join the Museum’s very own Princess and Prince, as they dance in the “noon year” followed by a dance party for all ages!
Due to the popularity of Noon Year’s Eve, guests are asked to plan accordingly. General Advance ticket purchase is highly recommended to ensure entrance into the Museum. Members interested in visiting the Museum should reserve tickets online. Space is limited to a first come basis for the Noon Year’s Eve program, so arrive early and don’t miss out on all of fun!
