I recently hosted a #MKSuperBuddies Movie Screening. Many of the kids were familiar with the previous movies and the familiar 4-legged stars, but some were not and this was their first time seeing the puppies in action. All 20 kids sat enraptured with Disney's latest installment in the Buddies Franchise, Super Buddies. They loved it so much, they all clapped and cheered at the ending of the movie.
Before the movie, they got in the spirit by getting Super Buddie tattoos, reading a Super Buddies Comic Book, and working on Super Buddies activity sheets, that you can print yourself at home. The Disney folks have put together a fun little package of activities that the kids are sure to enjoy. Just click the graphic below download and then print!
During the movie, the kids snacked on complimentary mini bags of Jolly Time Pop Corn which they could not get enough of. After the movie, they all loved making their own Super-Hero Capes from up-cycled t-shirts, and giving themselves Super-Hero Names, but if you click the link above, you'll see another way to make capes.
Super Buddies emphasizes rules of being a super hero, that I think are wonderful lessons for all kids to learn:
- You don't have to have super powers to be a super hero
- A super hero is a friend to any being in need of rescue
- A hero does good for good, not for glory
Kids love superheroes, but so many of today's latest movies are not appropriate for kids because of violence, bad language, scary villains, inappropriate clothing, or complicated plots, but Rated G and full of comedy and action, Super Buddies is safe for kids to watch, and entertaining for adults at the same time.
